Course Description

This course is based on the science of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.  Kundalini Yoga uses dynamic yoga postures, energetic breathing techniques, mantra (sound) and meditation to work with the spiritual energy of the body. Students have an opportunity to confront self imposed limits and gain the knowledge and confidence to build a more peaceful and creative life. 

The Aquarian Teacher Training Certification program is open to both yoga students ready to become teachers and those who wish to deepen their practice. Ideal for students of Kundalini Yoga, students of others schools of yoga, teachers of all forms of yoga, and anyone seeking to deepen their yogic experience. 

Course Curriculum

The Aquarian Teacher program is a KRI Level 1 Certification program in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.  In Level 1 you will become an instructor and gain a deep understanding and experience of the core of the science of Kundalini yoga.  You will develop the skills to instruct students in Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations as taught by Yogi Bhajan.  You will practice teaching Kundalini yoga in a practicum setting, participate in early morning sadhana (spiritual practice), and experience powerful transformational energy of White Tantric Yoga.  This is a 220 hour course, which includes 180 hours of classroom instruction in a well-defined curriculum which includes:

• Eastern & Western Anatomy & Physiology
• Teaching Methodology
• Yogic Philosophy
• Meditation & Pranayama
• Mantra
• Humanology and 3HO Yogic Lifestyle
• Teaching Practicum Classes
• White Tantric Yoga

Yogi Bhajan

Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga, arrived in the United States in 1969 with a stated purpose:  “I have come to create Teachers, not to gather disciples.”  For over 30 years, he traveled internationally teaching Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness.  In 1969 Yogi Bhajan founded 3HO – the Happy, Healthy, Holy Organization, based on his first principle, “Happiness is your birthright.” 

Through the Aquarian Teacher Training Program, Yogi Bhajan has trained thousands of KRI Certified Kundalini Yoga Teachers.  In 1994, the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association, (IKYTA), was formed to further spread these priceless teachings through the united efforts of Kundalini Yoga teachers worldwide.

Requirements

To be certified as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher the following qualifications must be met:

• Attendance in all course curriculum
• Satisfactory practicum assessment
• Passing grade on KRI's written examination
• Current professional membership with IKYTA (included in cost of training)
• Completion of 20 Kundalini Yoga classes
• Completion of assigned 40 day yoga set/meditation
• Creation of 2 yoga course curricula
• Participation in 5 morning sadhanas
• Attendance at a full day White Tantric course
• Full payment of course fees

Gurudass Kaur has been practicing and teaching Kundalini Yoga for over35 years. She is a KRI certified Level I and Level II teacher trainer. She is a Certified Yoga Alliance member at the ERYT level (Experienced Yoga Teacher). Her knowledge is deep and she has a unique capacity to share and transmit the Kundalini yoga tradition techniques clearly and correctly. Gurudass Kaur inspires students to teach from a place of love and joy. 

She has a beautiful voice that vibrates in the room and touches the heart when she sings. As a musician and singer she has recorded many mantra CD’s and a DVD called Mantras in Motion. She is also heard singing in many well know Kundalini Yoga music recordings. Her latest mantra CD is called “Lovingly, Gurudass Kaur.”

Gurudass Kaur is also the creator of the Childplay Yoga training program, an innovative yoga based, fun and creative activities program for children. She brings to this program her years of work as a certified elementary school teacher and a Montessori teacher. www.childplayyoga.com

Gurudass Kaur has been a Kundalini Yoga student, and teacher since 1972 and co-founded the first Kundalini Yoga center in Barcelona, Spain in 1978. She had the privilege of studying directly with the Master of Kundalini Yoga, Yogi Bhajan from 1972 until his passing in 2004. She lived in Barcelona for 25 years where she taught Kundalini Yoga and held teacher training courses. After moving back to the United States she now travels internationally offering Level I and Level II Kundalini Teacher Training programs.

Cost & Registration:

Submit registration Applications by July 15, 2010 with a $800 non-refundable deposit to hold your space.  .  Limited space available; early registration is encouraged.

Option 1:  $3100 paid in full

Option 2:  $3200 paid in 4 payments of $800

Option 3: $3290 paid in 6 payments of $415 in addition to the deposit

Refund policy:

There are no refunds once the course begins.  Requests prior to the start date are eligible for a refund minus the $800 non-refundable deposit.
