What led you along the yoga path?

I suffered extreme physical pain as a result of too much stress in my life and looked to yoga in all its forms and manifestations to help me heal.

What style of yoga do you practice?

Vinyasa flow on the asana side of things. But I also work to practice yoga every moment by doing my best to stay present and aware.

How long were you practicing before you trained as a teacher?

I practiced for a good 2 years before training to become a teacher.

How has yoga transformed your life?

It’s transformed my life be leading me down a completely different career path then I ever thought I would be pursuing. Yoga has helped me be a kinder person and has transformed the way I think about health and wellness.

When people ask you, “What is Yoga?” what do you say?

Yoga is more then just the poses. Yoga is meditation. Yoga is breathing. Yoga is being aware of how and why you’re reacting to everyday situations. Yoga is knowing what to do to heal your body. Yoga is knowing who you are.

What can people expect from one of your classes?

People can expect a good mix of challenge and relaxation. When I teach asana, I’m eternally inspired by the subtle adjustments you can make to perfect your pose in every moment. On the outside the pose might not seem difficult, but I love to cue to the subtle body to increase the challenge for each unique body.

At the same time, I like to end my classes with restorative yoga nidra. You get the best of both worlds in my classes.

What do you love most about teaching yoga?

I love providing space to heal. I love holding space to explore. I love holding space to relax. And I love when I get to see my student’s have those “aha” moments. I love watching students meet their true selves.
