We’re very excited here at Radiance. There’s a new exhibit coming to the Smithsonian this fall: Yoga: The Art of Transformation. This is the first major exhibition devoted solely to the art of yoga.
The museum’s Arthur M. Sackler Gallery will have over a hundred pieces of Indian sculpture and paintings on display, with some items that date as far back as the third century up to modern day. Temple sculptures, devotional icons, illustrated manuscripts, as well as colonial and early modern photographs, books, and films aim to shed light on the 2,000-year old practice.
They’re currently trying to spread the word and raise some extra funds to support additional programs associated with this fantastic exhibition, so please consider supporting if you can.
The exhibition runs from October 19, 2013 – January 26, 2014.
