Gretchen’s journey into yoga began 15 years ago, as a purely physical practice. The multitude of benefits was not solidified until 7 years ago when she was dealing with the imminent death of her mother and a husband away at war. Yoga brought solace on every level and it reaffirmed stability and peace in her life. This personal healing is what led her to obtain her 200-hour RYT with Pure Prana in 2009. Within this experience, on the brink of beginning a Masters in Clinical Counseling, Gretchen switched gears and instead received her M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology, with a focus on conflict resolution, to better enable her to help others on a deeper level.
Her mission statement on and off the mat is to be an excavator of peace in those who have lost it, acting as a champion for hope and compassion, while easing inner pain.
Gretchen teaches vinyasa (flow), attempting to allow the energy and motion of a class to release all of the stuck emotion we carry within.
