Joanna was first introduced to yoga as a young teen, and continued to connect to yoga over the years because she loved its unique blend of movement, breathing, and mindfulness. Joanna’s classes emphasize self-inquiry, energy, and alignment, and move at a moderate pace. She encourages students to get in touch with their inner teacher for a safe, sustainable practice. Joanna completed her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Pure Prana Yoga, is an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance, and holds a certificate in Therapeutic Yoga for Seniors from Duke Integrative Medicine. She also received certificates from Jen O’Sullivan of Sati Yoga to teach Yin Yoga, and from Michaelle Edwards of YogAlign to teach YogAlign. Joanna also studies with Mehtab Benton and is a certified Gong Practitioner.
