Learn the fundamentals of Yoga Nidra in this 15-hour CEU LiveStream immersion training taught by Steve Wolf, ERYT.
Yoga Nidra literally means “sleep of the yogi.” Numerous recent studies prove the power of this ancient technique to systematically calm the nervous system and induce the most profound states of relaxation.
Yoga Nidra, though, is so much more than a tool for relaxation. Through guided visual imagery, body awareness, and other mindfulness techniques, it provides access to your deepest states of consciousness. Here you’ll find self-understanding and healing, as well as gain access to your intuition and creative potential. Through regular practice, you become more grounded and less reactive to the push and pull of daily events.
Over the course of the weekend, participants will learn the physiology and science behind Yoga Nidra and learn how to skillfully deliver a safe Yoga Nidra practice in a class or in a private setting.
After a brief introduction, Friday night’s class will include a short gentle yoga class leading into an extended guided Yoga Nidra session. Over the three-day course, you’ll experience several variations and lineages of traditional Yoga Nidra, you’ll be given tools for developing your own scripts, and will have the opportunity to practice teaching. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to cultivate your own voice toward leading effective, authentic Yoga Nidra sessions. Additionally, you will learn how science continues to discover the many benefits of Yoga Nidra, underlining what the ancient yogis have always known.

Meet your instructors
STEVE WOLF (E-RYT500 YACEP)
Steve first discovered both yoga and martial arts as a child and has now been actively teaching in the mind/body field for almost four decades. His earliest yoga teacher was his aunt who had studied yoga in Brazil, and he later practiced for six years with IYT Yoga instructor Jackie Novak, who also mentored him during his early days as a teacher. Now holding two advanced teacher designations with Yoga Alliance, Steve has received training and inspiration from Yoganand Michael Carroll, Angela Farmer and Victor van Kooten, Gary Kraftsow, Erich Schiffmann, Rod Stryker, JJ Gormley, Judith Lasater, Barbara Benagh and many others.
In 2005 Steve founded Awase Publishing to distribute yoga related media around the world. His pioneering Yoga Nidra recordings, ‘Relax Deeply,’ ‘Sleep and Breathe Deeply’ and ‘Savasana’ have become classics in the genre and are still being used in a number of teacher training programs around the country. ‘Relax Deeply’ is also being used as part of the pre-op routine for cancer patients at the Johns Hopkins Weinberg Cancer Center, and it has been used by the Walter Reed Army Medical Center to treat returning war vets.
A fourth CD, 'Yoga Nidra for Kids Of All Ages,' produced in collaboration with Pranakriya Children’s Yoga Program director Emily Gretz, received rave reviews in Yoga Journal. Steve’s best selling 2016 DVD,
‘Discovering Chair Yoga’ is considered by many to be the most comprehensive video of its kind.
