Restore & Explore in the Galápagos Islands

April 3-10, 2027

Join Us for a Unique Blend of Yoga, Wildlife & Exploration in the Galápagos Islands

Join Masuda and Brigitte for an unforgettable journey to one of the most extraordinary places on Earth: the Galápagos Islands. Known as the world’s premier wildlife destination, this protected ecosystem offers a rare opportunity to observe animals up close as they move freely in their natural habitat.

A Retreat to Restore & Explore

This retreat is designed to balance meaningful exploration with space to slow down and reset. Daily yoga and meditation practices offer a steady rhythm throughout the week, supporting both energy and restoration as you move through a full and enriching itinerary.

Immersive Nature & Wildlife Encounters

Experience the Galápagos through guided excursions led by expert naturalists. Snorkel alongside sea lions and penguins, walk among marine iguanas and blue-footed boobies, and explore volcanic landscapes shaped by time. Each day brings a new opportunity to witness the islands’ remarkable biodiversity.

Adventure in Extraordinary Landscapes

From kayaking in secluded bays to hiking through lava tunnels and cloud forest, the itinerary is designed to give you a rich and varied experience of the islands. These are the moments that make the Galápagos so unforgettable, both expansive and grounding at the same time.

Practice in a Unique Natural Setting

Our home for the week is Semilla Verde Boutique Hotel, a peaceful eco-retreat surrounded by private forest on Santa Cruz Island. The glass-walled yoga studio overlooks gardens and a tortoise pond, creating a quiet, immersive space for practice.

Nourishing Meals & Thoughtful Hospitality

Enjoy fresh, locally prepared meals each day, blending traditional Ecuadorian and international cuisine. Meals are designed to be both nourishing and satisfying, with options to support a range of dietary needs.

Space to Slow Down

Between excursions and practice, there is time to rest, reflect, and take in your surroundings. Relax in a hammock overlooking the forest and ocean, enjoy the quiet of the property, or simply take a moment to pause.

Some More Useful Information to Consider

Why Join This Retreat?

This retreat offers a rare opportunity to combine meaningful travel with yoga practice in one of the most biologically unique places on Earth. From swimming with sea lions to observing giant tortoises in the wild, the Galápagos invites you to reconnect with nature in a profound way.

Travel Insurance:

We recommend that international retreat participants take out travel insurance in case of any life situation that may alter your plans. You may consider plans from travelinsure.com, insuremytrip.com, or any other option provided by your credit card, airline, or travel company. Also, note that your health insurance may not provide coverage internationally. Check with your provider and consider additional coverage if necessary. In order to guarantee maximum coverage, most travel insurance providers require that you obtain a policy within 5-10 days of placing your initial deposit.

What airport do I fly into?

Your final destination airport on the Galapagos Islands is Baltra (GPS). All flights stop on mainland Ecuador before arriving on the islands. This necessary stop will include an additional baggage screening with SICGAL to ensure that any food or animals that may be of danger to the Galapagos ecosystem stay well away from the islands. After the screening, your bags will be zip-tied locked and you will be allowed to check in for your final flight to Galapagos.

You can  fly to mainland Ecuador via either Quito (UIO) or Guayaquil (GYE)

From there, an approximately 2-hour domestic flight takes you to Baltra Island (GPS), which serves Santa Cruz Island. Airlines servicing the route include: Avianca, LATAM and Equair

Depending on your origination location, you may be required (due to airline routing/timing) to stay a night in either Guayaquil (GYE) or Quito (UIO).

If you arrive into Guayaquil late the Holiday Inn or Mariott at the Guayaquil airport. It is only a few minutes travel from your terminal. There are only a few flights from Quito and Guayaquil to the islands per day. LATAM and Avianca are the airlines that  fly form Ecuador mainland to Baltra (GPS Galapagos) These flights can be booked on most travel booking sites.

Are airport transfers included?

Airport transfers from Baltra Airport to the retreat hotel are included. Private transfers can be arranged separately at your own cost.

Do I need a Visa to travel to Equador?

U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays of 90 days or less in Equador. You’ll just need a valid passport with at least six months remaining before expiration.

Travelers to the Galápagos are also required to pay two local fees:

Transit Control Card (TCT): approximately $20, purchased at the airport before your Galápagos flight

Galápagos National Park Entrance Fee: approximately $200, paid in cash on arrival in the islands

What currency should I take to Equador?

Ecuador and the islands use the US dollar, so for many of us, no money-changing is necessary. There are ATMs in the airports in Ecuador and Puerto Ayora on the islands, but we do recommend that you bring about $400-500 in cash.

What time is check in and check out?

Check-in time is from 3:00-8:30pm, and check-out time is from 7:30-11:00am. The fee for early check-in or late check-out is $30 for the first hour and $5 for each additional hour. We require advance notice for any early/late check-ins or check-outs. Accommodating the request will depend on room availability.

Are gratuities included?

We recommend $100-120 per person for the week for the hotel staff.  Gratuities for tour guides and boat crew are included.

Are meals included?

Yes. The retreat includes three meals per day, featuring fresh, home-style cooking made with locally sourced ingredients. Meals are a blend of traditional Ecuadorian and international cuisine, and the kitchen is happy to accommodate dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, and paleo.

Most meals will be served at the hotel. Three lunches will be provided on the day tour boats during island excursions, and one or two dinners will be enjoyed at local restaurants. All venues will be informed in advance of any dietary restrictions within the group.

Are there massage services available?

Massage services are available on request on arrival.

Are there yoga props?

What will be the average group size for this retreat?

14 students plus two teachers.

What is the minimum age to attend?
